Research Funding:  Even though CHD is the #1 birth defect affecting 1 in 100 babies born in the United States, most people have not even heard of it until their family was directly impacted. This lack of national awareness has resulted in severely underfunded research programs. The CHD Coalition is committed to make a difference, and to date, has granted nearly half a million dollars to carefully-selected research led by progressive hospitals across the United States. Institutions that have been awarded grants have included Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York, Icahn School of Medicine, and Boston Children’s Hospital.
